iPed: the secret announcement

in the wake of the incessant buzz of Apple's new iSlate, err, iPad announcement from sites like Mashable, and the slew of other online resources, the relentless articles, posts, forums, tweets, and online commentary of this much anticipated geekery, i couldn't help but announce the secret i alone have been privy to for some time...  the newest and most exciting iDevice from Apple.  an obvious upgrade from the Nike+ iPod release, a devastating enhancement to iPhone portablility, and clearly a product the world will pounce on faster than a tweet or facebook-esque post...  PoetGeek.com announces the new... iPed™.The new Apple iPed, clearly a much better version of the iPad, I mean, c'mon, right?!

the skull as a whole

"the exterior of the skull is examined from five points of view: from the front, the back, above, below, and from the side.  each of these aspects is called a 'norma' [=a square]; and they are named, respectively, norma frontalis, occipitalis, verticalis, basalis, and lateralis.  There are no boundary lines between the aspects, for they overlap one another to a large extent" - cunningham's text-book of anatomy, 6th edition, 1931.

the world is quieting.  my girl and i work this hoarfrost-dusted eve.  the soft patter of fingers on keys.  breathing.  movement.  music, cadence.  my next RUNericRUN.com project coming along nicely, with research, sketches, and sentences underlined.  it is times like these that matter.

light snow & prismacolor love

my girlfriend jasmine joins me in reno, nevada since my last posting.  we work out ferverishly.  her skin, her abs, are resolute and scintillate.  she is competing in a bikini competition in march.  snow drifts.  i think of bikinis in snow and smile.  hardened.  winter here is different from san diego.  missing.  yes.  snow falls lightly this evening.  there are poignant footprints and tire treads in the inception.  listening to lights.  budgeting time for art.  love is peace.

i am loving my new prismacolor markers.  been doodling a lot this evening.  reminds me of a different time.  why does everything remind of something else?  insouciant.  the heart of darkness is not troubling.  i am pecking at words, clipped.  yes.  today was good.  below is a picture i snapped of an earlier rendition of page 6 for RUNericRUN.com highlighting my marker joys.  i have begun working on page 7, and am feeling that it will keep me one disaster-less.  the story continues.  sing.  pull glamour down over your eyes.  breathe.  this is life.earlier rendition of page 6 (RUNericRUN.com) & my prismacolor markers

practical elocution: recreations in articulation xvii:vi

i found this tonight while i was perusing the book Practical Elocution that i had stumbled upon and bought last weekend for RUNericRUN.com, looking for artistic opportunities.  when i found the following i immediately googled part of the paragraph i transcribed below and found a few useless and incomplete listings. so dig on this cool alliteration from a book published in 1881.

Practical Elocution, pages 109-111:
Shrewd Simon Short sewed shoes.  Seventeen summers’ storms and sunshine, saw Simon’s small, shabby shop standing staunch, saw Simon;s self-same sign still swinging, silently specifying: “Simon Short, Smithfield;s sole surviving shoemaker. Shoes sewed and soled superfinely.” Simon’s spry sedulous spouse, Sally Short, sewed shirts, stitched sheets, and stuffed sofas.  Simon’s six stout sons – Seth, Samuel, Stephen, Saul, Shadrach and Silas, sold sundries.  Sober Seth sold sugar, starch, spices; simple Sam sold saddles, stirrups, screws; sagacious Stephen sold silks, satins, shawls; selfish Shadrach sold show strings, soaps, saws, skates; slack Silas sold Sally Short’s stuffed sofas…

the fascination of... prequel

posted a new piece on RUNericRUN.com tonight.  but i also thought it would be cool to post one of the preliminary images i made for this posting. i didn't wind up using it for the main post because i felt it was missing some sexuality.lithocoal, wrapper pieces, heavyweight vellum drawing paper, prismacolor marker
